I feel compelled to revisit a subject which is quite obviously not monopolized by the media in Geelong but neither are our intrepid reporters who have apparently been Geelong’s “voice” for 180 years, entirely innocent of the deceitful practices that have infested media outlets over the entire globe where brave investigative journalism has given way to cowardly narrative promotion like we have seen in Geelong’s media over the past few years with the Geelong Addy being not the only media outlet that is equally guilty of misleading their readers. The media’s job is to “inform the people as opposed to conforming the people” but the latter is all too often the case practiced by the pathetic papers in this and all other regions in our fabulous land Australia.
Most real estate purchasers, who possess wisdom, seek value for money in the properties they buy and I take the same attitude to the narratives I buy into, which is why I no longer afford any time at all to news and current event shows that are free to air, so why would I buy a rubbish newspaper at $3.50 a pop in order to brainwash my mind with the narratives that Rupert Murdoch for instance would have me buy into, as Mark Twain is reported to say “if you don’t read the newspapers your uninformed. If you read the newspaper you’re misinformed.”
Not only is what we are being told questionable but the greatest disservice they are doing to the people is what not’s being reported. We don’t hear a peep out of them when there are obvious narratives to be challenged, they’ve never gone after those who have insisted on poisoning our water with fluoride or corporations fouling our food supplies with additives or organism modification. They don’t bother to report on the excesses of government agencies who indulge in fraud and extortion on a daily basis. They tell us nothing of the political treason that’s been going on for decades including the Lima Agreement which essentially was an agreement to sacrifice our industries to help out other countries, the car industry a prime example following the textile industry many years before. No push from the media to free Assange for simply telling the truth while Port Arthur has escaped all scrutiny by the media largely for the reason they were partners in the creation of this disgusting episode and of course there’s no pursuit of the 28 pedophiles named by former Senator Bill Heffernan, they tell us nothing on a journey to nowhere, lets not talk about the cover ups surrounding 9/11 and way back to the assassinations of the Kennedy’s in America. Now they are attempting to pull the wool over our eyes and hide the potential consequences and ramifications of the government’s proposed voice to parliament, while choosing not to make an issue of Albanese and Marles” treason in unlawfully granting of Australian property and funds to support the Ukraine against the “tyrant” Vladimir Putin in a proxy war initiated by the United States. There are many more questions that the media should be asking of our corrupt government instead of being a party to the corruption.
It maybe worthwhile to search for a post from a year or two back titled 30 questions the media should ask government.
